My Path to Leadership
My career began at 25 as a barrister, where I honed my skills in vision creation, strategy, negotiation, and advocacy. I constantly stepped out of my comfort zone to persuade judges and stakeholders, gradually realising that I needed to demonstrate leadership.
I didn't settle for a prestigious position as partner in my law firm, but instead pursued a dream job with the United Nations, where I worked for over a decade. Later, I moved to Australia mid-career, became a HR manager and built a successful business as an accredited leadership and team coach and mediator.
Lessons from the Journey
This journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve worked hard, made mistakes, and learned valuable lessons along the way. I've faced ups and downs, raised children—one of whom survived a life-threatening illness—moved countries four times, and navigated career changes, all while being the main provider for my family.
I've thrived through challenging war and post-war zones, corporate mergers, difficult bosses, cultural differences, office politics, questionable work cultures, and establishing my own successful business. These experiences have earned me a reputation as a respected leader whom others seek out for advice and mentorship.
